Throughout our lives, the choices we make and the actions we take are governed by our values; they are what make us who we are.
This Thursday (18 October) is World Values Day, which is a chance for us all to reflect on where we are right now. If you feel that things have taken a wrong turn – perhaps a decision you made didn’t turn out as planned, or you just need some time to remember and reconnect with the principles that matter the most – why not stop, think and plan to do the things YOU want to do? They needn’t be life-altering decisions to start with… just little changes to how you see the world in a way that feels right inside your heart is the first step in what will be an extremely positive journey.
At Fresh Perspective, we place our own set of core values at the forefront of everything we do, from selecting the right clients and candidates to do business with to how we work and play. Our five fundamentals are: ‘Inspire’, ‘Do the Right Thing’, Love It’, Positivity’ and ‘Teamwork’, which were devised and set in stone following a collaborative effort by the team. Having everyone involved in establishing our company’s values was of massive importance to us, as they represent the hearts and minds of a harmonious group of people whose voices are of equal importance. We all believe in being motivated, operating with integrity, loving what we do, striving to think positively and being thankful of each other!
The theme of this year’s World Values Day, which is observed annually on the third Thursday in October, is putting our values into action in our communities. We think this is a fantastic theme and the whole Fresh team takes great pleasure in getting involved with communities across our beloved Lancashire as much as possible – particularly through charitable endeavours.
From recently partnering with Animal Care in Lancaster as our first ever ‘Chosen Charity’ to taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and a skydive this summer in aid of women’s causes, our team’s values are the moral compass that guides us to always give back. In the near future, we are looking to partner with a charity that supports the homeless community, so we will keep you posted on any developments through our blog.
This weekend, Emily and Evie will be at the football to see Chorley FC, who rely on the amazing work of volunteers and charitable donations to keep the club going, take on Barrow FC in the FA Cup fourth round (come on you Magpies!); meanwhile, Laura will be lending her support to the Preston-based Rosemere Cancer Foundation at a Food and Drink Fair that’s promising to serve up the region’s finest cuisine!
We hope you feel inspired to celebrate World Values Day this year, whether it’s embracing what you already hold dear or starting a new chapter.
